The Belmont Club cites a New York Times article which cites a private security group's data showing that 41% of the terror attacks in Iraq occur in 0.17% of the country. (How does this compare with the fraction of the Alaska National Wildlife Reserve the Administration proposed to open up for oil drilling?)
Of course, you have to dig real hard to get that figure. It's up to you to look up, for example, the ratio between the area of Iraq and the area of Baghdad. If I didn't know the Mainstream News Media were fair and unbiased, I'd suspect someone was trying to paint all of Iraq as an unmitigated disaster.
