ABC's Cheap Shot at Palin

ABC's Cheap Shot at Palin:

"

...it's time to follow up with similar outrage to this idiocy from ABC News: 'Sarah Palin, once again, has found a way to become part of the story.'

FOUND a way? Huh? Through absolutely zero fault of her own, minding her own business other than to issue a very brief and appropriate statement of condolences last Saturday as almost every national political figure did, Palin found herself thrust into this story without ever wanting to be part of it. For four days she sat by as numerous figures on the left and in the media (a redundancy) accused her of being all but an accessory to mass murder, merely because she used an absolutely common image in a political ad in an absolutely common and innocuous way. Why is she required to sit back and take it? Does ABC believe she should do what Bobby Knight once said of rape victims, that she should 'lie back and enjoy it'? Go back and read her video released today. More than 90 percent of it was eloquent and utterly pitch-perfect from ANY perspective. The self-defense part was pointed but hardly outlandish. Only the 'blood libel' line pushed the envelope the slightest bit, although even that wasn't totally outlandish (as even Alan dershowitz acknowledged while defending her use of the phrase).

Sarah Palin no more 'found a way to become part of the story' than Richard Jewell 'found a way' to be falsely accused of setting the bomb at the Atlanta Olympics.
