Commenter GeoffyG on police who justify shooting dogs or homeowners because they were responding "aggressively" to the band of armed men pouring through the door:
"Do we really want to live in a country where when someone busts into your house at night you're supposed to assume they might be cops?"
You may have to. If you defend yourself against intruders who turn out to be cops, you're in jail for assaulting police officers.
