Even Kennedy says so.
One of the administration's staunchest opponents, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), even said Sunday that President Bush deserved credit for what seemed to be a tentative awakening of democracy in the region. "What's taken place in a number of those countries is enormously constructive," Kennedy said on ABC's "This Week." "It's a reflection the president has been involved."
Yes, violence continues, but as more and more Iraqis take up the job of policing and defense, the attacks committed by "insurgents" will be less popular and harder to justify. When attacks injure and kill far more Iraqis than foreigners, the "insurgents" need to either come up with another way to make their point, or admit they're at war against democracy, no matter who practices it.
