Mapes would Rather not

Mary Mapes looks like she may not go away quietly.

"If there was a journalistic crime committed here, it was not by me," a bitter-sounding Mapes said in a statement last night. "I am concerned that [the actions of CBS network chief Les Moonves] are motivated by corporate and political considerations - ratings rather than journalism."

Other commentaries have pointed out that if CBS is taking the position that the memos may be authentic, and there's no evidence of bias, Mapes' firing may be an example of scapegoating.

Do you suppose Gloria Allred would take her case?
